Regulatory Analyst

Reports to Technical & Regulatory Manager.

Role and Responsibilities

The Regulatory Analyst is responsible for the general implementation and execution of technical, regulatory affairs (domestic and international), and compliance functions as assigned by the FSQ Leadership and in support of our commitment to customers and stakeholders. The Analyst must be able to execute all general technical and regulatory functions and any specialty functions related to labels, certifications, and customer requirements, and train other team members in proper execution of their tasks. The FSQ must interact and collaborate inter-departmentally, in a professional, solutions-oriented manner, without conflict escalation. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Labels & artwork
    • Label Information current, complete and accurate to regulatory standard – first time, on time.
    • Review label artwork for accuracy and ensure all legal and KC requirements are met; ensure correct label information is available to the site prior and during production.
  • Customer requirements and communication
    • Manage customer portal and documentation requirements and standards; work with FSQ and Supply Chain to ensure material information is current and sufficient.
    • Organize regulatory documentation into appropriate physical and electronic files including scanning documents into appropriate document repository systems.
    • Review recipes, change requests, materials for compliance to brand and customer standards, communicate any deficiencies.
  • Certification
    • Responsible for ensuring site level compliance with Regulatory sections of SQF, including Organic, Gluten-Free, Supplier programs.
    • Responsible for ensuring site programs, recipes, supplier, and raw material documentation is current, correct, and available prior to and during organic and gluten-free audits.
  • Successful relationships with stakeholders
    • USDA, FDA, GFCO, NOP, Customer, and other Identity Preserved Audits & due diligence documentation accurate, complete, available – first time, on time.
    • Support efforts to reduce defects and Non-First Time Right issues within the organization.
    • Internal customers & collaborative department relationships support first time quality & operational variance reduction – reduction in concerns, increase in efficiencies.
    • Provide paths for success instead of roadblocks – “yes with no” for all concerns.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Quality or Compliance role.
  • Demonstrated understanding of state and federal regulations when pertaining, but not limited to, labeling, nutrition, certifications.
  • Experienced working with ERP and project management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to review and maintain database record information.
  • Clearly communicates change and analyzes potential impact.
