Product Labeling and Technical Information Specialist

Responsible for the development, generation and accuracy of technical contents of label copy for new and revised food products and maintenance of technical information documents including corporate & customer food policies, finished product specifications, product labels, selling and merchandising collateral. position is integral to collecting, researching, and resolving issues and/or discrepancies, and ensuring 100% data integrity.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Generates label content in accordance with FDA/USDA regulatory requirements using Genesis/ESHA software, including nutritional data, allergen statements, ingredient listings, bar codes, common name, and applicable claims.
Portal Entry & Customer Specs (Wawa, ICIX, GORP, Darden, The Sea, The Kitchen, WF, Pret, Ikea, Sam's, Wal-Mart, etc.) Liaise with Sales and Culinary to create sample labels and preliminary finished product specifications as needed.
Work with Corporate & Regulatory Compliance to ensure that product labeling meets applicable regulatory and industry requirements. Enters the technical label information into the appropriate systems, properly setting up new materials against raw material specifications into Genesis software as needed.
Implement and communicate revisions to recipes and labels with all appropriate personnel. Work with cross functional team (Procurement, Culinary, and Corporate & Regulatory Compliance) to ensure food policy compliance.
Remains aware of changes in rules and regulations affecting label copy and contents. Annual review of all KC Specifications Management of Trace Register for Whole Foods Seafood Other Duties as assigned Qualifications and Experience Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition, Food Technology OR equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience required.
Previous experience managing accuracy of data, data entry, and document/record management required as well as experience in generating, reviewing and approval of technical food label copy. Demonstrated ability to problem solve, research, analyze and source missing information. Conversant with food label terminology and regulatory aspects of labels and claims Must be conscientious, accurate, detail oriented, organized and a team player Familiarity with FDA and USDA guidelines Ability to quickly learn new systems/procedures.
