Cycle Counter Apprentice

Job Summary

Role and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities: The Cycle Counter is responsible for monitoring warehouse inventory and performing cycle counting duties to ensure that all materials are properly verified and are reflective of reported inventory. The Cycle Counter will maintain inventory accuracy through proper counting, processing of material reports and transfers. The cycle Counter will also assist the Warehouse, Production, Engineering and Customer Service in locating materials.

The cycle counter will be responsible for the timely and accurate reconciliation of on-hand inventory as well as WIP.

Role and Responsibilities

·        Always adhere to safe work practices

·        Generate count sheets in ROSS via Cycle Count Reports

·        Perform counts assigned from Finance/Demand Daily List Perform physical counts of raw material, WIP, Paper Products and Finish Goods

·        Reconcile ROSS inventory Communicate and update all relevant parties of any issues or changes to inventory

·        Coordinate the timing of WIP counts with production to ensure materials are not moving while counting

·        Maintain back-flush errors report on 3rd shift Issue materials to open soup jobs as needed

·        Notify planning of any unforeseen shorts

·        Follows the company’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and HCAPP.

·        Performs daily checks of area for non-compliance and reports them to the manager

·        Ensure clean and tidy work area at all times

·        Plan all activities to reduce downtime

·        Record data Take active lead with new employees and temporary labor

·        Encourage colleagues to challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvement

·        Take instructions from supervisors

·        Any other tasks deemed reasonable and reasonably requested by management

Qualifications and Experience

Required attributes

·        Experience with inventory control and reconciliation Counting skills

·        Excellent Attention to detail

·        Basic computer skills Experience working in temperature-controlled settings

·        Experience with perishable items

·        Proven track record in safe working practices

·        Excellent interpersonal skills needed for working in a team environment Goal oriented & well organized

·        Ability to work all scheduled shifts, on time

Preferred Skills:

·        3 years of manufacturing experience preferably in the food industry

·        Ability to operate a pallet jack / forklift

·        Able to interact and communicate with the supervisors and team members

·        Ability to lift 50 lbs. Passion for food and high quality

·        Effective verbal and written communication skills

·        Works with little supervision, but work is reviewed. Exercises discretion within areas of responsibility.

·        Position makes indirect contribution to efforts that generate moderate levels of revenue.

·        Decisions or actions may have a moderate impact on other departments and/or external relationships of the organization. Errors are usually detected after the fact and may result in moderate interruption and delays in work output.
