Trade Spend Specialist

Reporting to the Finance Manager, Trade & Deductions, The Trade Spend Analyst will directly support the business in overseeing Trade agreements & deductions. The individual in this role will work closely with internal Sales, Accounting, and Customer Service teams as well as with our customers, distributors, and broker partners to improve compliance and visibility around trade investments. This is an opportunity to exercise growth in general accounting, organizational, and communication skills while driving improved financial transparency and performance for the business. The ideal candidate is organized, detail oriented, analytical, and capable of working in a fast paced & changing environment.

o Manage trade and broker payment processing and reporting

o Run and adapt monthly trade accrual schedules to ensure integrity & accuracy

o Explain monthly actual to budget variances

o Provide analytical support around changes in sales mix and trade programs.

o Identify opportunities to optimize trade spend o Investigate, analyze, transact, and act on inbound deductions for a subset of key customers

o Obtain backup, determine legitimacy, process to the appropriate general ledger accounts, and coordinate efforts to recoup illegitimate deductions as needed

o Identify opportunities to improve systems and overall processes


o Bachelor’s degree in Accounting o 2+ years of experience in accounting, finance or trade/deduction processing o Sophisticated Excel user with proven ability to problem solve and learn new systems o Good interpersonal & communication skills (oral and written)

o Experience with ERP systems preferred but not require

d o Experience in food manufacturing preferred but not required

o Financial and business acumen


o Able to work from home or in office in Lynn, MA
