Staff Accountant

Position Summary

The Staff Accountant is a key member of the Finance team, providing support to multiple manufacturing locations and focusing on month-end closing, reconciliations, and reporting responsibilities, as well as ad hoc reporting and various ongoing projects within the department. The role will work closely with the Corporate Controller, as well as others within the Finance team.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Active support and collaboration in weekly reporting as well as during the monthly close process; accurately calculating and booking entries and accruals as needed for areas of responsibility – including, but not limited to: Payroll, temporary labor, utilities, prepaids, inventory, leases, freight, goodwill & intangibles, etc.
  • Prepare the related balance sheet account reconciliations and maintain the spreadsheets required to support month-end and year-end reporting to ensure accuracy and completeness; provide explanations for variances, if any.
  • Analyze financial information to identify any discrepancies and research and resolve quickly and effectively.
  • Assist with the annual financial audit by providing necessary documentation and support files.
  • Take on additional responsibilities and ad-hoc projects as the role advances and the company scales.

Qualifications and Education Requirements / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.
  • 1-5 years of experience in accounting.
  • Understanding of general accounting principles.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel – ability to create and work with Pivot tables and V-lookups.
