Senior Accountant

JOB SUMMARY

Within the Kettle Cuisine shared services model, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for overhead management across Kettle Cuisine entities, which operate on a variety of ERP systems. The Senior Accountant is a key member of the Finance team focusing on monthly closing and reporting responsibilities which will include, but are not limited to, working with other members of the Accounting and FP&A teams, as well as with Sales, Operations, and the CFO, preparing management reporting, and performing general ledger reconciliations. The Senior Accountant will report to and work closely with the Corporate Controller.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

o Overhead management – Ensure that department managers are provided with timely and accurate information to manage their costs. Run the monthly overhead reviews. Work with department managers to spot issues and identify opportunities for improvement.

o Process Improvements - Map processes and develop process improvements to provide more timely, accurate & relevant information with enhanced visibility such that senior managers can take corrective action more quickly.

o Annual Budget – Lead the annual budgeting process for overhead spend across the business o Tax – Assists Controller on tax compliance, working with third parties as appropriate. Take the lead on specific elements, as agreed with Corporate Controller.

o Month/Quarter/Year-End Close Process – With a focus on overhead accounts, maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting reconciling transactions and resolve discrepancies. Analyze, reconcile and update balance sheet accounts as appropriate.

o Weekly P&L – Assist in the production and automation of the monthly weekly P&L, providing analysis and insights o Annual Audit – Work with Corporate Controller to maintain and strengthen financial controls.

o Other – Lead and contribute to other initiatives, within and beyond Finance LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Works under general supervision.

Makes decisions within clearly prescribed areas referring matters that fall outside that area to others. • Recommends actions and alternatives to supervisor and others.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES • Cross-trains other employees and answers questions from co-workers, but is not responsible for performance management.

SKILL REQUIRED: *These must reflect the minimum for consideration for the role

o Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience o Financial and business acumen; knowledge of U.S. GAAP

o Strong Excel skills, including V-lookups, filtering, and pivot tables

o Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact and communicate effectively with employees at all levels o Bachelor’s degree with business related concentration, finance or accounting preferred

o Not required but a plus:

o Experience explaining financial results to non-Finance managers

o Prior experience in manufacturing environment

o Experience with any or all of the following: SQL, Great Plains, Enterprise 21, Ross (Aptean) o Experience with tax compliance

o CPA designation
