Job Summary

The QA Supervisor is responsible for developing, planning, and assisting the Quality Assurance Manager in the QA department. The ideal candidate is responsible for ensuring that company standards are exceeded with a targeted emphasis on continuous improvement, providing support, structure, and documented formalized training for employees within the organization in all areas.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as backup SQF Practitioner.
  • Support the Food Safety Management System to ensure the training of Food Safety Team. Members, ensure that the Food Safety System is established, implemented, maintained; prerequisite programs, HACCP and HARPC (Preventive Controls), GMPs, SSOPs, GFSI, USDA, and NOP guidelines and policies are adhered to.
  • Support the internal auditing program.
  • Ensure audit readiness for all Internal Quality Audits, SQF, FDA, USDA, NOP and all other 3rd Party audits, and respond to findings with preventive and corrective actions.
  • Lead the execution of cultural changes and activities needed to support continuous improvement and QA&FS initiatives for all shifts.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and act as the primary liaison to outside laboratories, and to external regulatory agencies (FDA, USDA).
  • Ensure effective review, monitoring of QA and production records and escalate as needed.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with frontline employees, peers, and executives.
  • Ability to drive positive changes in both processes and systems and culture.
  • Track, analyze, and lead initiatives for all quality and customer complaint issues within the plant-dashboard rollup.
  • Complaints, investigation, and reduction.
  • QA program implementation.
  • Mentor and develop QA technicians.

Required Skills

  • BS Degree in Food Science
  • In lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree, demonstrated experience in Quality role for a minimum of 3 years
  • 2 to 3 years in quality or safety supervisory role
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Able to build and maintain good working relationships with a wide variety of personalities and levels of staff members
  • HACCP Certified, PCQI Certified, SQF Practitioner, with USDA and FDA experience
  • Knowledge of statistical process control, HACCP, sanitation, and hygienic design
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts and strong defect root cause analysis process

Responsibility

  • Responsible for the training and development of the QA technicians.
  • Direct the QA hourly employees based on job specific procedures.
  • Monitor and act on performance of QA technicians. 
  • Process approvals and time and schedule adjustments through HRIS system.
  • Manage any employee relations matters within the team.
  • Schedule QA technicians ensuring adequate coverage during production based on business needs.
  • Model and support Kettle’s core values and safety culture.

Pay Range for QA Supervisor

The QA Supervisor base pay range $65,000 - 75,000 USD/annually. The listed salary range represents Kettle Cuisine’s good faith estimate for this position and represents the minimum and maximum for new hire salaries for the Green Bay, WI location only. Ranges will be reviewed on a regular basis. An employee’s rate of pay within the range is determined by their qualifications, relevant experience, and demonstrated performance over time. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth. The QA Supervisor position is eligible for our comprehensive benefits package and is eligible for the annual discretionary bonus program up to 10%. Kettle Cuisine and all its legal entities comply with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws.
