The Maintenance & Operations Parts Tech will be responsible in helping the Maintenance Coordinator for the upkeep and maintenance of the parts inventory as well as the overall appearance and organization of the inventory areas and the purchase of operations

Role and Responsibilities

  • Organizes and maintains the parts inventory for the facility and plant equipment.
  • Orders, receives, and puts away parts for maintenance and operations departments.
  • Contacts vendors for formal quotes and delivery information.
  • Performs cycle counts of inventory to ensure accuracy.
  • Reports discrepancies between physical counts and computer records.
  • Maintains vendor relations.
  • Works with maintenance and project personnel to identify parts, material and any equipment needed.
  • Checks out and returns inventory.
  • Coordinates the repair of repairable inventory.
  • Kits and stages parts for work orders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Key Responsibilities:

  • Requires handling of objects that can weigh up to 50 lbs.
  • Walking, sitting, standing and climbing stairs and ladders.
  • Responsibilities may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime or weekend hours to support equipment and plant maintenance.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in inventory control 
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Be able to work independently with moderate supervision

LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Works with little supervision, but work is reviewed. Exercises discretion within areas of responsibility.
  • Recommends actions and alternatives to supervisor and others.
  • Decisions or actions may have a moderate impact on other departments and/or external relationships of the organization. Errors are usually detected after the fact and may result in moderate interruption and delays in work output.

 

Compensation: $19-$20 per hour (DOE)

Shift: M-F Days (overtime and weekends based on business needs)
