Description

The primary focus of this position is to oversee processing of food manufacturing operations to meet company standards for food safety, quality and production protocols at our Union City, CA facility. Kettle Operator hours are approximately 3:30am - 11::30am or 11:30am - when finished. Overtime in this position is probable. This is a temp to permanent position.

Role and Responsibilities

Production

Follow standards of quality and food safety protocols

Follow all SOP procedures and documentation

For corrective and preventative actions, determine and implement appropriate corrective action and complete C&C Reports and email to Quality Office.

Verify Preparation Scale & Packing Scales daily using certified weights

Notify Maintenance Manager of any equipment malfunctions or damage Cleaning and sanitizing of all equipment in production area

Verify monitoring activities assigned

Verifying the chart recorder to when it reaches >190°F

Collect CCP chart recorders daily after the end of the production day

Checking and documenting in-line protective devices between batches (strainer and magnet)

Collect CCP chart recorders daily after the end of the production day

Monitor accumulation of trash in processing area and notify non-production personnel when trash needs to be picked up.

Qualifications and Experience

Good interpersonal & communication skills (oral and written) and ability to interact and communicate effectively with employees at all levels

Able to follow all HACCP policies and guidelines

Knowledgeable of CCPs & CQPs

Knowledgeable of SSOPs

The ability to understand and monitor what task are needed to maintain quality and safety in the production process

Physical Demands/Efforts

Work requires occasional physical exertion including some lifting of objects weighing up to 40 pounds

Willing and able to stand for long periods of time

Mental & Visual Demands

Work performed by this position requires a significant level of mental concentration to manage multiple complex tasks.

Work requires continuous visual effort for extended periods of time.

Work Environment and Hazards

Employee works in a manufacturing setting with frequent exposure to heat/cold, dust, or other factors that may require protective equipment and still pose a hazard.

This position has regular exposure to hazards that could result in significate injury and lengthy loss of time at work.
