Inventory Systems Supervisor

Role and Responsibilities
Inventory - Program objective is to
I. Run the materials at or less to budgeted values
II. Develop and deliver an agreed, budgeted improvement to the materials usage
III. Develop and implement controls to reduce waste by 50% in the financial year
Key Actions
o Job Closing – manage IC team to close all system jobs in liaison with planning – daily process with daily report for DDS
o Manage Backflush Inventory daily with daily report for DDS
o Manage system write-up and write off with weekly report for Leadership Meeting
o Manage cycle count process and team members with Daily report for DDS
o Develop and manage ABC cycle count system based on Purchasing process modify DDS report as appropriate
o Develop and Manage Waste reporting systems with root cause analysis and associated Improvement Plan – waste to be reported daily at DDS and weekly summary of trends and LT actions to be part of Leadership Meeting
o Implement inventory recount and variance analysis program Weekly reporting of key Variances to be presented at Leadership Meeting
o Conduct root cause analysis of variances and implement inventory control process improvements
o Update inventory valuation monthly
o Update slow moving and obsolete inventory analysis, driving action to minimize exposure
o Manage inventory substitution process
o Report on inventory variances to supply chain/production team to drive action
o Review inventory transactions and perform root cause analysis on inventory variances to prevent repeat errors
o Work with production and warehouse teams to improve material process flow
o Develop a controlled process for exception-based inventory requisitioning (samples, testing, etc.)
o Overall, responsible for integrity of inv cycle count process (quantity) and valuation (costs, exposure, COGS
o Develop Yield Analysis program with associated Improvement Plan – Daily / Weekly report format to be agreed with the business
Process Analysis & Improvement - Develop process improvements to provide more timely, accurate & relevant information with enhanced visibility such that the business can take action.
Support various projects throughout the year
Role will be in the Vacation / Absence cover pool with Warehouse Supervisors and will support WH operations as requested
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
Bachelor’s degree with business related concentration
Good interpersonal & communication skills (oral and written) and ability to interact and communicate effectively with employees at all levels
Sophisticated Excel user, comfortable in SQL, and good aptitude for system reports
Having worked in manufacturing environment within food industry is not required but a plus.
