HR Generalist - First Shift

  • Location:   Green Bay, WI
  • Position Type:   Full time - Salary

The HR Generalist/ Payroll Administrator provides a wide range of human resources support for the Green Bay, WI facility, including accurately maintaining HR Information System, recruiting, onboarding, and processing payroll.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Accurately maintains various Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) to ensure employee data is updated timely and accurately
  • Performs recruitment and onboarding to temp employees and direct hires
  • Conducts orientation and training sessions for new employees and converted employees to full time status
  • Responsible for processing facilitys bi-weekly payroll and temp agencies weekly payroll hours report (i.e. verifying timecards, reviewing payroll registers, verify attendance reporting accuracy, vacation submissions, resolve any payroll related discrepancy, etc.)
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resources files, records, and documentation
  • Performs periodic audits to HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately
  • Provides support to employees related to general HR questions
  • Demonstrates tact and diplomacy and maintains discretion and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive employee data
  • Plays a lead role in coordinating various events and recognition programs, including Souper Star, company picnic, team building events, retirements, safety celebrations while maintaining and adhering to assigned budgets.
  • Maintains flow of information of communications in and out of the HR department, including being responsible for regular review and update of bulletin boards and electronic communication system - Marlin.
  • Supports reviewing policies and procedures
  • Provides support for various safety related projects
  • Provides clerical support to the HR department
  • Follows all environmental protocols as applicable to the job
  • Follows all Good Manufacturing Practices as stated within the policy
  • Follow all food safety procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience

  • 2-year degree in Human Resources, communication, business or other related degree
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of Human Resources and payroll experience
  • Knowledge of Federal and State regulations of Human Resources and payroll
  • Good interpersonal & communication skills (oral and written) and ability to interact and communicate effectively with employees at all levels
  • Intermediate computer skills (MS Office) required

Working Conditions And Physical Effort

Work is performed largely in an office with some exposure to a plant environment. Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours equaling 40 hours per week. There will be some variation in work hours due to special projects, deadlines, and other matters. Likely to experience frequent interruptions to workflow.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must have the ability to occasionally lift 2040-pound boxes.
