Job Summary The Director Sales - Retail, will report to the Vice President of Sales - Mass/Club and focus on the sales growth and profitability at assigned Accounts, as well as the prospecting and cultivating of new business for Kettle Cuisine within the Retail Channel.

This role will work internally with all Kettle Cuisine cross-functional partners to insure assigned and new Account’s operational, logistic, R&D, and sales objectives are met in a timely and profitable manner.

Role and Responsibilities

Work closely with individual Accounts to grow sales through continuing item management of both existing, and potential new items; across all Kettle Cuisine categories / food types.

Improve Kettle Cuisine presence at Accounts by developing relationships at all levels and departments at said Accounts.

Track, with the goal of understanding and influencing, Account’s service levels, sales trends, profitable opportunities, and other relevant metrics.

Ongoing analysis of Account’s performance vs year-ago; agreed upon Budgets, Competition within Channel, Region, and peer Suppliers. Facilitate problem solving / solution providing for business issues and obstacles impeding Kettle Cuisine growth t assigned Accounts.

Own relationships with customer teams to facilitate excellent customer service.

Act as point of contact to review and investigate problems related to customer service issues.

Coordinate and delegate to Sr. Account Specialist, all projects and product launches within the Kettle Cuisine portals (NPD, Ross), R&D and Project Management Teams.

Drive alignment between Account’s financial guidelines and Kettle Cuisine’s costing structure, using information needed for Kettle Cuisine ERP/Financial Systems.

Travel to assigned Accounts and potential new accounts as needed to drive results; Vice President of Sales to provide guide for frequency and necessity of trips / offsite meetings.

Coordinate and travel to Kettle Cuisine sites for any Customer visits, proactively engaging applicable onsite Kettle Cuisine personnel.

Responsible for accurate completion and submission of any current / potentially new Account’s RFP’s across all Kettle Cuisine categories.

Recognize risks/opportunities throughout new Account generation that insures profitable opportunities.

Evaluate Account’s projects with attention on identifying best practices and improvement opportunities; summarize to Vice President of Sales.

Manage the coordination of R&D projects through development and alignment of scopes and goals between Kettle Cuisine and the customer.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Position does not have direct supervision of any direct reports

SKILLS REQUIRED

College degree required and/or equivalent work experience is needed

Successful track record of achieving budgets and managing projects within agreed upon cost targets and schedule.

Preference for someone with experience in the Private Label Market with Relationships focused on key retailer accounts in the Eastern ½ of the United States

Extensive computer and analytical skills including Microsoft Office Suite Excellent communicator including facilitation, both verbal and written

Thrives in a time sensitive environment by effectively managing pressure Understanding of stage gate process and working across teams for successful item launches

Strong business acumen and sound judgment.

Uses instinct and data to accurately assess business situations and customer/industry trends; makes timely decisions Self-awareness.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a Director Sales, Retail encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Physical Demands/Efforts Work requires little or no physical exertion.

Mental & Visual Demands Work performed by this position requires moderate mental concentration to effectively execute moderately complex tasks. Work occasionally requires visual effort for extended periods of time.

Work Environment and Hazards Employee typically works in a normal corporate or home office environment free from noise and hazards. This position has limited exposure to hazards that might cause minor injury. 30% to 40% travel is required for this position. T

ravel may include out-of-state and overnight stays.
