Assistant Production Worker

DESCRIPTION

The primary function of the Assistant Production Worker is handling, packaging, and cleaning up of ingredients and packaging in a food production facility utilizing industry standard manufacturing practices and safety rules. Assistant Production Worker hours are approximately for first shift 4:00am - 12:30pm or for second shift 12:30pm – 9:30pm. Overtime in this position is probable and schedule may change due to business needs. This is a Temp to Perm position.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

o Add powered ingredients and flavorings to mix

o Maintains a clean and organized work environment in the plant.

o Participate in annual GMP and HACCP training

o Additional responsibilities as required

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

o High School Diploma or similar work experience

o Able to follow all HACCP/GMP policies and guidelines

o Bilingual in Spanish preferred

o Physical Demands/Efforts o Work requires frequent physical exertion including some lifting of objects weighing up to 50 pounds

o Willing and able to stand for long periods of time

o Willing and able to walk to other areas of the plant often

o Willing and able to bend frequently

o Willing and able to reach above shoulder height or below the waist frequently

o Mental & Visual Demands

o Work performed by this position requires a significant level of mental concentration to manage multiple complex tasks.

o Work requires continuous visual effort for extended periods of time.

o Work Environment and Hazards

o Employee works in a manufacturing setting with frequent exposure to heat/cold, dust, or other factors that may require protective equipment and still pose a hazard.

o This position has regular exposure to hazards that could result in significate injury and lengthy loss of time at work.
