Maintenance Supervisor

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide strong safety leadership and ensure that employees safety is the primary objective of the maintenance team
  • Ensure compliance with all safety requirements
  • Model safe behaviors and personal work practices
  • Ensure maintenance personnel stay current with all required training
  • Provide feedback to direct reports through coaching and mid-year and year-end reviews
  • Manage department vacation schedules to ensure adequate staffing
  • Review and approve timecards for the department
  • Ensure overtime hours are minimized
  • Ensure trouble calls are resolved in a timely manner
  • Ensure maintenance KPIs are trending positively
  • Ensure quality standards for maintenance work are upheld
  • Evaluate the departments training needs and assist in the training
  • Provide direction in the prioritization of planned work
  • Ensure adherence to work order process
  • Facilitate good communication with all groups in the organization25% - Lead the team to execute daily TPM initiatives
  • Participate in Daily Direction Setting and other meetings as necessary

  • Involved in all area activities including budgeting, strategic planning, TDC initiatives.
  • Interface with multiple funtions with the plant, as well as WHQ Engineering, Process Safety, Product Development, Reliability and network teams.
  • Ensure operational standards are executed with excellence.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food manufacturing maintenance and engineering experience preferred.
  • Computer skills, working knowledge of SAP, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Operations experience with a strong understanding of various plant functions.
  • Strong drive and initiative to make improvements in a variety of areas with a minimum of supervision.
  • Strong commitment to personal development and growth.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills - relies on facts and data.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
  • Good planning, prioritizing and organization and multiple prioritizing skills.
