Are your single serving frozen soups all natural?
Absolutely. We use only the finest all natural ingredients in each of our soups - from chicken raised without antibiotics on a vegetarian diet and beef raised without the use of any growth promoting hormones or antibiotics to cream sourced from local New England dairies that pledge to not use artificial growth hormones. Our goal is to always cook soups with ingredient statements that read like recipes rather than chemistry experiments and that only contain easily identifiable real food ingredients.

Do your single serving frozen soups contain trans fats or hydrogenated oils?
All of our soups are free of artificial trans fats and hydrogenated oils. However, since dairy products naturally contain small amounts trans fats, our New England Clam Chowder does contain 0.5 grams of naturally occurring trans fat. Research suggests that our bodies digest naturally occurring trans fats differently than artificial trans fats and some experts contend that naturally occurring trans fats might even aid in both muscle building and fat loss efforts.

How does the sodium content compare to other soups?
At a common serving size of eight ounces, the sodium levels of our soups range from 330mg to 640mg with an average across all 10 varieties of 480mg or roughly 20% of the recommended daily allowance.
Since we do not use processed ingredients like condensed soup bases that are often high in refined salt we have complete control over the level of salt flavor and sodium content in our products. As such, our soups never taste over salted and maintain reasonable sodium counts - especially relative to alternatives.
We also uniquely and exclusively use sea salt to season our soups as opposed to the refined salts found in many other soups. The minerals present in sea salt help deliver a more vibrant, pure and clean flavor and 82 of the 84 essential minerals found in our sea salt are missing from the refined salt. Additionally, since refined salt is manufactured to resist water absorption, it is not absorbed properly in the body and can build up in arteries - natural sea salt passes through the body as salt is supposed to.

How do you ensure that your gluten free soups are really gluten free?
All of our gluten free soups are cooked in our USDA inspected kitchen in Chelsea, Massachusetts. We have instituted strict cooking procedures so that all of these soups are safe to eat for those with gluten allergies and intolerances. We carefully segregate cooking of all gluten free soups and only begin cooking soups containing gluten once gluten free cooking is complete. In addition, we test every batch for less than 5 parts of gluten per million, which is well below the FDA's proposal for 20 parts per million. As a result of these practices, we are proud to be officially certified as a gluten free manufacturer by the Gluten Free Certification Organization (GFCO).
